MORE NATURAL LAUNCH POSITION

Flatter-shaped exhaust resonator moves 54 mm inward, where it no longer requires a heat shield. The new position also contributes to improved ergonomics for race starts, as the rider’s leg no longer needs to go around the resonator to reach the ground.

MORE FORWARD POSITION SILENCER

More forward positioned silencer has a tapered shape, benefitting mass centralisation (closer to the front, and to the centreline) and contributing to more composed behaviour as well as the KX450’s racy looks.

NEW ODI LOCK-ON GRIPS

Medium-compound ODI Lock-On Grips offer excellent grip feel, while their screwtype fastening system greatly facilitates the task of swapping grips.

NEW POWER MODES

The Power Mode selection button (a first for Kawasaki KX models), this replaces the DFI couplers used on the previous model.
Riders can select between Normal (Full Power) and Mild response to suit conditions or preference. Mild response is good for riders still familiarising themselves with the KX450.

NEW QUICK-RELEASE SIDE COVER

Left side cover can be removed without tools, facilitating access to the air filter element. The element is now secured with quick-release hooks (previously a wing bolt), which makes changing the air filter a much simpler task—something that enduro or crosscountry racers will especially appreciate.

SMARTPHONE CONNECTIVITY: RIDEOLOGY THE APP KX

Using the smartphone application “RIDEOLOGY THE APP KX,” riders are able to access and adjust their bike’s engine maps. Functionalities (adjusting fuel and ignition timing) is similar to that offered by the accessory KX FI Calibration Kit used with previous models. Maintenance and setup logs are also available.

A communication unit mounted to the left rear frame rail enables riders to connect to their bike wirelessly. No accessory equipment is needed.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE BRAKES

Drilled petal disc brakes from Braking/Sunstar are among the KX450’s numerous high-grade components.

Large-diameter, semifloating ø270 mm front disc is paired with a NEW Brembo caliper and master cylinder. The combination offers strong front brake force as well as increased controllability that contributes to enhanced corner entry.

KAWASAKI TRACKTION CONTROL (KTRC)

The KX450 is the first KX model to offer Kawasaki TRaction Control at
the push of a button.

Using the Traction (T) button on the left handlebar, riders can quickly and easily select from two levels (Weak, Strong) of traction control to suit conditions and preference. Riders may also elect to turn the system off.

LAUNCH CONTROL MODE

A holeshot advantage, Getting ahead of your rivals early means not having to work your way through the pack later on. Kawasaki’s factory-style Launch Control Mode is standard equipment that gives riders an edge when they line up at the start.

Launch Control Mode uses dedicated KTRC, ignition and fuel maps to provide optimal control to maximise tyre grip, providing the support to help riders get race strong starts.
